3D Animation Movie Maker - The Evolution of Making Animations at Home

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D CHARACTERS :

I guess a lot of people would like to make their own movies. By that I mean to go beyond editing together movie clips taken while on holiday, to making movies which tell a story. In most cases professional actors are expensive and most friends don't make good actors. This is why making a 3D animation movie is a satisfying low cost alternative.

I remember a holiday movie my father made in the 1950s. It had an animated title filmed, like the rest of the movie on 8mm celluloid film. When I asked him about it, he told me he had put his camera in a clamp pointing at the floor. He then created the first letter of the title using a piece of string and filmed it for a couple of seconds, then he created the second letter and so on. It was several days later, when the film came back from the developing laboratory that he discovered that his desk lamp had not really been adequate to illuminate his work properly.

Then along came computers. It took a while before computers got good at graphics, even stationary ones. But of course they did eventually get good, not only at rendering still scenes, but also animations. Unfortunately Hollywood studios being able to afford high powered hardware and software did not make it accessible to the amateur movie maker.

The high price of professional 3D animation software led to the concept of Machinima. In Machinima inexpensive computer games are used to record 3D animated movie clips. Some computer games have a camera or record function built into them, and for others which do not, there are additional utilities such as Fraps, which can be used for recording the game action.

Popular Machinima games include Quake, Unreal Tournament and SIMS 2. These games come with the ability to design your own sets and characters, either as part of the main game itself or using utilities, which are provided with the game. Admittedly getting exactly the movie clips you want from these games can be challenging. I never did find out how to part characters in Unreal Tournament or Quake from their guns, which meant unless you wanted to make a shoot 'em up movie, they were not ideal. No doubt obstacles like this could be overcome, but it seemed you could not get very far unless you were prepared to get immersed in scripting language.

Of the three games I have mentioned, SIMS 2, is probably the easiest to use for making Machinima, except that the characters, or in our case actors, tend to have minds of their own. So your movie star may wander off part way through filming, or someone else you don't recognize, might suddenly turn up and disrupt the scene you are shooting. With SIMS 2 you might even find your movie set spontaneously combusting during filming if you forgot to buy fire insurance. Perhaps this is like movie making in real life, but I would prefer not to have to put up with all of these uncertainties.

So you may wonder why no one has produced a budget software product, specifically for the purpose of making 3D animations at home. In fact Microsoft did exactly that in the mid 1990s with a product called 3D Movie Maker, which they targeted at the kids market. However the product was designed for early PCs, so it was pretty basic, on most home PCs it was slow, and it was soon discontinued.

Recently there has been recognition of this unfulfilled need. Reallusion in particular, has developed a 3D animation movie maker called iClone. This software is pretty much a dream come true for anyone who wants to tell a story using 3D animation. In its basic form it costs about the same as a new top end computer game, while the more advanced and more useful Pro version is still very reasonable.

Although you could make a whole movie in iClone, I find it is best to use it to construct a series of 3D animation movie clips and to then edit them together using Microsoft Movie Maker, which comes as part of Windows, or using a more advanced home movie editing suite such as Pinnacle Studio.

Other key points to note about iClone are that if you want to get up and running very quickly, there is a good library of actors, scenes and props, which you can purchase to add to the collection, which comes with the program itself. On the other hand if you are short of cash and prefer to build everything yourself and have plenty of time to spare, you can do that too using the tools included in the software.

One optional utility, which I recommend purchasing bundled with the iClone, is Reallusion's 3DXchange. This allows you to import content from other sources, including Google 3D Warehouse, which is a fantastic resource full of free models of buildings and other props, to enhance your 3D animations.

I find it amazing to think that with a budget of less than ,000 I can now purchase a PC and the software required to make 3D animation movies, when twenty years ago I would have needed $ millions for less capable facilities.

You Can Fix Your Relationship, Make Up Success

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D CHARACTERS :

The art to "fix relationship" is not a natural thing for most of us, it is something that needs to be learned and also something that takes allot of hard work! The fact in the world today is that many of us struggle with the simple fundamentals of a happy relationship, generally due to a lack of example or just to damned stubborn to listen to the close people with the best advise. People of all ages are getting into relationships which constantly have there ups and downs, which can lead to severe tension with the possibility to breaking up, and statistically speaking such are from even the littlest of thing can become so ridiculously huge. Gaining some new and simple tools can save for yourself a lot of heartache and pain...

Here are some important factors to fix your relationship!

Dedicate time to put effort in your relationship! If there is an undeniable spark with strong feelings then you really need to sit back and think about all the positive things that you have going. When it come to communicating and working out what may be wrong you need to be sure of what they are honestly, and you need to be aware of what it is that makes you angry, one very important thing for those angry points when you got to them is to take time out! With anger there is many different emotions that create it , so generally needs further evaluation. Quite often is just a miss understanding of what is been said... Its necessary also to gain some understanding to how your partner works, as males and females we see things totally different from one another and does lead to some form of confusion especially in confrontation...

Give each other compulsory time out!

Having some alone time to think and reflect,or even just enjoying a personal hobby of some sort is very important, even spending time with your friends, its all about character. For the two of you, you should be able to learn and consider what each others needs and want are in this category and work out a compromise that will suit you both. Learn to accept the things that you can not change that you partner needs to be his or her self, and learn the wisdom to be able to change what you need to reach that happy medium that suits you both...

Get your self back on track!

If your relationship has gone rapidly downhill and you personally don't feel happy then you should really focus on yourself and solely on yourself! For any relationship to be healthy you definitely need to be happy. Often in relationships we there becomes an unrealized control thing that happens like being forced to wear different clothes, or eat different things, even act in a completely different way and although sometimes this can be for the positive, when its not it can make one very miserable. So what I am saying if this is you then you need to be you again, after all it was that you what attracted them in the first place.

All in all to fix relationship you need to clear about how you feel and what you want, focus on what you guys need and how you are going to get there, Remain positive with your thoughts and bring laughter and happiness back into your picture. The Importance of Yeast in Wine Making

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D CHARACTERS :

As you're probably well aware of by now, wine comes from grapes. The juice pressed out of the berries, the must, is fermented to produce alcohol. That's the macro view. If we zoom in, literally into the microscopic view, you might find that something less appealing is happening to your grape juice.

At the heart of wine making is the yeast, a creature so tiny (8/25,000ths of an inch in size) you'll wonder how it can turn juice into wine. This wee, one-celled, living thing is not a miracle worker; by simply existing, this fungus can singlehandedly make or break a winemaker.

Wine is created when the yeast feeds on the sugar in the must. In a simplistic sense, the yeast digests the sugar and eliminates the wastes of its feeding, which are alcohol and carbon dioxide. Some scientists have a perfectly acceptable, scientific explanation: it's the enzymes that yeast cells produce which transforms the sugar in the fruit juice into wine.

Whatever the process or however it may go, there's still one star in the winemaking show: the yeast.

Use the Best Yeast to Turn Fruit Juice into Wine

In the beginning, there was neither science nor art in wine making. Man, as a matter of fact, stumbled upon it quite by accident. After a late night, some fortunate soul must have left out some grape juice in the open. Wild yeasts came and ate the sugar. The forgotten juice must've been found later, smelling sour; but loath to waste food, man consumed it anyway. He didn't die from the experience; in fact, he must have found it a pleasant one and from that time on, he was preserving grape juice in this novel way.

These days, man has evolved wine making into an art and a science. Science, because he has identified and isolated the best type of yeast to use in making wines; and art, because he has discovered the ways and means to tweaking the process to produce a superior wine.

There are about 15 known genera of yeasts that are perfect for wine making. The best genus is the Saccharomyces, which is used for making alcoholic beverages like beer and wine, and for making bread. Of the 7 species in this genus, the cervisiae strain is the vintner's best friend.

Cervisiae is at its best when the temperature is around 30°C. At this level, they begin multiplying and feeding on all the oxygen and nutrients found in the must, thereby producing alcohol. The cervisiae colony soon plateaus or dies, and the wine is almost done. There are some strains though that can keep on feeding on the remaining nutrients and oxygen, eventually ruining the wine.

Winemakers make sure that cervisiae dominates the fermentation process with the addition of sulfite to the freshly-crushed grape. They may also cut off the supply of oxygen in the vats, lower temperatures, or stabilize the wine to weaken undesirable yeasts.

Pasteurization remains to be the best way to kill off unwanted yeasts but winemakers eschew the process as it ruins the must. Instead, wild yeasts found in their vineyards are left to act on the must and they just fiddle with it during the fermentation.

There is much value, though, to using cultured yeasts. Wine making has become accessible to the neophyte vintner who doesn't have large tracts of vineyards and huge stainless steel vats. She/he can now produce wine right off the kitchen. What's best, she/he can decide on the wine's character, color, or flavor, among other things.

Romantic process or not, veteran vintner or newbie, one thing still remains: the yeast is still the ultimate winemaker. Anything or anyone else is an 'add on'.
